Billboard outside debate to highlight how GOP hurts women

CLEVELAND, OHIO – A giant billboard will traveling around the Quicken Loans Arena tomorrow showing elected officials in Ohio and the current crop of GOP candidates the reality that women in Ohio are facing today. The billboard, which is funded by UltraViolet, a national women’s advocacy organization, is part of an effort to elevate issues of equal pay, minimum wage increases, and paid family leave as well as expose the ongoing attacks on women’s health and economic security ahead of the 2016 election.

“Tomorrow, voters will get more insight into the clown car of anti-woman fanaticism that is the GOP presidential field for 2016,” said Nita Chaudhary, co-founder of UltraViolet. “Our members want to know what they are going to do help Ohio women and their families. In a state where nearly 1 in 5 women lives in poverty, opposing raising the wage and ending the wage gap is more than bad politics-it does actual harm to Ohio women.”
