Blake Deppe devotes his time to writing, reading, and art. In writing, he covers topics including environmental and conservation issues, and pop culture including music and film reviews. He is also a production manager, helping with the daily assembly of the People's World home page.
He enjoys music including black metal, as well as good books, nature, card gaming, and traveling, including to New Orleans, where he covered the 2010 BP oil spill, and Los Angeles, where he wrote articles on the 2013 AFL-CIO Convention. He also covered the 2014 People's Climate March in New York, and the 2015 United Nations Climate Conference in Paris, France.
In his spare time, he is working on a fantasy novel, taking long hikes in the woods, and supporting the underground music scene.
Deppe grew up in Garfield, New Jersey, and currently lives in Chicago, Illinois with a friend, a cat, and a dog.
