ST LOUIS: 21st Annual Hershel Walker "Peace & Justice" Awards Breakfast

At CWA Local 6300 union hall, 2258 Grissom Dr., St. Louis, MO 63146.

Metro-Detroit AFL-CIO Central Labor Council president Chris Michalakis will keynote the event.
He serves on the board of Progress Michigan and the advisory board for the Restaurant Opportunity Center (ROC) of Michigan. He is also active in the Michigan Alliance for Immigrant Rights and the Trade Union Leadership Council.
At 33, Chris is the youngest serving CLC president of a major metropolitan area, and the first foreign-born CLC president. He is a graduate of the University of Michigan and a student at Wayne State University.
Chris will talk about the impact of so-called ‘right-to-work' legislation in Michigan, the right-wing strategy to roll-back gains made by unions across the country, and what Missouri can expect if the republicans here are successful at passing ‘right-to-work.'

This year's awardees are:
- Tishaura Jones, St. Louis City Treasurer
- Andrew Shaughnessy, St. Louis PROMO organizer
- Holly Roe, Communications Workers Union of America (CWA) 6355, activist
- Gary Elliot, business manager, Eastern Missouri Laborers' District Council

Tickets are $25 per person; tables of 10 are $200.
