The AFL-CIO has created a blueprint for economic stimulus that provides both immediate and long-term help for America’s working families and the nation’s struggling economy. The two-stage AFL-CIO plan focuses on federal investments to meet the immediate needs of working families, such as expanded, extended and improved unemployment benefits; help to maintain health care coverage; job training; and aid to cities and states. It also calls for rebuilding the nation’s infrastructure for long-term economic stability.
