The following is a New Year greeting from Ramon Labañino Salazar, one of the Cuban Five.

We would like to let you know how grateful we are, for all the beautiful and outstanding jobs you are doing in this battle for our freedom. Please, receive in this letter, the expression of our highest gratitude and love.

We are confident that sooner rather than later, we’ll get together to celebrate our victory in which your valuable help is so important.

We want you to feel our presence during this holiday season, and receive our embrace as a symbol of our eternal brotherhood in this New Year’s Eve. We wish you the best in 2003! Hope to meet you in the near future, to celebrate the next anniversaries and victories.

Happy New Year 2003!
With Love,
Ramon Labañino Salazar

The Cuban Five – Gerardo Hernández, Antonio Guerrero, Ramón Labañino, Fernando González and René González – were working to stop the ultra-right terrorist groups in Miami from carrying out violent actions against the people of Cuba. They were living in Miami, monitoring these terrorist groups to prevent future violence.

The five were unfairly prosecuted in South Florida and are now serving long sentences in various U.S. prisons. To read the latest friend of the court brief from the National Jury Project in support of a new trial or for more information go to www.freethefive.org.
