National #EducatorsOut Day of Action: Sponsored by the American Federation of Teachers. Teachers across the country have vowed to turn their unions and schools into “sanctuary schools” dedicated to protecting undocumented students from persecution. Alliance to Reclaim Our Schools National Day of Action: Oppose education privatization by joining teachers and activists across the country to say no to the Trump/DeVos agenda. Here is a link to local actions.
Protest the Fascist/Alt-Right Deploraball: Fascists are having a fancy ball, taking a smarmy victory lap through D.C. to celebrate the victory of their leader Donald Trump. The National Press Club, of all organizations, is hosting them and anti-fascist groups plan on being there to send a message. Here is the Facebook event with more details.
January 20:
Disrupt J20: A day of action and widespread civil resistance to the new administration that aims to bring together a broad-based resistance to Trump. The main event will occur in Washington D.C., but local actions can be found here. Housing and logistical help are also available.
The Inaugural #Trump420: DCMJ is hosting a mass federal civil disobedience in Washington D.C.’s Dupont Circle. The plan is to hand out 4,200 joints of legally grown cannabis and, at 4 minutes and 20 seconds into President Trump’s speech, smoke them en masse. Marijuana is legal in D.C., and several states, but Donald Trump and his proposed Attorney General are against its legalization. You can find more here.
Boyle Heights Contra Trump: Legalization not deportation, defend DACA, and NO to the Mexico wall. Join activists in Mariachi Plaza in Los Angeles for a demonstration and march. Here is the Facebook event with contact info and further details.
United Front Against Fascism: From 2-6pm at the Los Angeles City Hall, the Roofers Union is leading a rally against Trump’s flirtations with fascism. Here is the Facebook event with details and contact info.
Trump Tower Chicago Inauguration Day Protest: Join thousands in Chicago in front Trump Tower to connect and build the resistance in the Midwest. The Facebook event page doubles as a planning page, so jump into the action.
ORGANIZING FOR POWER INAUGURATION DAY TEACH-IN
MISSOULA, MONT. – On Inauguration Day six downtown Missoula locations will host 17 outcome-oriented skill-building workshops, discussion panels, and working groups led by local organizers. Coordinated by the Missoula Area Central Labor Council and Good Jobs Missoula, the Organizing for Power Teach-In will generate trained and proficient change-makers for an effective and direct resistance movement against the Trump administration and Republican-controlled Congress.
On January 20th, 2017 attendees will learn how to determine & demonstrate demands, identify which authorities to pressure for results, and how to create strategic campaigns for impactful change through electoral politics, direct action, and community-building.

Women’s March: A march focused on women’s rights in the age of Trump, misogynist-in-chief. Over 100,000 have rsvp’d to attend. Here is the home page, complete with information on regional “sister marches.”
Accommodations: If out-of-town friends need reasonably-priced guest rooms for the upcoming Women’s March on Washington, check out the Tommy Douglas Conference Center (formerly the National Labor College). The Center has 160 newly-renovated guest rooms, WIFI, fitness center, recreation room, lounge and parking (car and bus), just minutes from two metro stations and only 10 miles to the National Mall.
