Original source: THE art of romance is dying out in Britain, with the majority of us preferring to say ‘I Luv U’ in a text message rather than compose a romantic letter or poem to a loved one, the National Trust claimed on Monday.
The nation that has produced figures such as John Donne and Shakespeare, as well as a host of romantic letter writers, now reaches for the mobile phone or email when moved to express its feelings, according to a National Trust survey.
The online poll of 2,558 adults showed that most, 62 per cent, have never spent time penning a love letter and only one in five has composed a poem to the one they love.
