CPUSA calls on members to close the gap on People’s World fund drive

There is an urgent need for working people to get our voices out there and combat the pro-corporate, right-wing propaganda media ecosystem so vital to Trump’s victory. The fight for the truth has intensified in the era of mass disinformation.

People’s World produced outstanding daily election coverage, publishing over 500 articles that informed and inspired grassroots action. Our work makes a difference, with nearly 2.7 million reads in 2024—100,000 of those since November 5 alone.

Please donate generously to People’s World so we can continue to provide first-rate coverage of the ongoing fights against attempts to impose MAGA-style fascism and the Project 2025 agenda.

Our first post-election analysis was widely shared and reprinted, including in Britain, Brazil, Canada, India, and Spain, with translations into Portuguese and Spanish. Meanwhile, the reach of our print digest grows, serving incarcerated individuals nationwide and expanding to neighborhood and workplace distribution in Connecticut, Michigan, Ohio, and Oregon. We also have a new Southern Labor edition.

Our labor coverage encompasses veteran labor journalists like Mark Gruenberg and volunteer writers, including trade unionists from all over the country. These eyes and ears on the ground give voice to workers on picket lines, union halls, and neighborhoods. Our reporting on the battle between the United Auto Workers and Stellantis’ corporate greed is garnering significant readership and recognition.

Plans are underway to modernize our flagship website to elevate positive portrayals of workers’ struggles in the mass media. A revamped People’s World ensures we remain an accessible, cutting-edge resource for all.

However, we need help to sustain this vital work. The 2024 People’s World Fund Drive is $36,000 short of its $200,000 goal, and time is running out.

Here’s how one particular group has decided to help:

The Communist Party USA has over 100 clubs and collectives full of dedicated members, labor activists, and community organizers across the country. The November 15-16 CPUSA National Committee meeting asked each of those clubs to strive to raise $360 for People’s World by the end of December. If all 100 clubs participate, they’ll wipe out the fund drive gap.

By participating in broad coalitions during this year’s anti-fascist fights, this publication has built relationships with unions and pro-democracy organizations that appreciate our work. We should contact more of these groups to see if they can help us, like the CPUSA is doing. Let’s get creative!

The U.S. working class, people, and People’s World face a crucial moment. We need your support to continue advocating for our working class. Every dollar counts, whether you are part of a CPUSA club, district, readers circle, or individual supporter.

In solidarity,
