A four-person delegation from the Communist Party USA (CPUSA) has returned from a week-long visit to China at the invitation of the Communist Party of China (CPC).
The delegation – National Chairman Sam Webb, Vice Chairman Scott Marshall, African American Equality Commission Chairwoman Debbie Bell and International Secretary Marilyn Bechtel – visited the capital city, Beijing, and the southeastern cities of Shanghai, Suzhou and Jiaxing.
Highlights of the visit were discussions with CPC Political Bureau member Li Tieying, Minister Dai Bingguo and other leaders of the CPC International Department, and leaders of the All China Federation of Trade Unions. Their itinerary also included the giant state-owned Bao Steel plant, the Suzhou Industrial Park, the Academy of Social Sciences and the Development Research Center of the State Council.
