With the final vote just days away, we’re zeroing in on stories that help get a handle on what this electoral struggle looks like and who’s taking part in it. John Wojcik, editor-in-chief of People’s World, explains why Trump’s rhetoric isn’t in the interests of workers and why we must reject extreme right-wing ideology. Wojcik dives deeper into his article, “Labor, its allies, and the courts fight to stop Trump,” to give us the 411 on what coalitions are leading this fight.
In the second half of our episode, founder of the Steel Workers Women’s Caucus, Roberta Wood, explains the importance of electoral work and the movement connected to it. Wood, who has interviewed many workers on the job taking action for better conditions, details how 2020 has turned into a year of working people organizing with a sense of urgency for a better world.
