It took a few extra weeks, a few more pushes, and a whole lot of you—but on June 1, People’s World crossed the finish line on our spring fund drive, reaching our goal of $140,000.
This was not the work of any one person or committee. It was collective—exactly the kind of collective action that People’s World has covered and championed for over a century. Every donation, every event organized, every phone call made, every email forwarded, and every social media post shared helped get us here.

Completing this drive wasn’t easy. We didn’t quite make the original May Day deadline, so we extended the drive, determined to go for as long as it took to hit the goal. The People’s World community answered the call—again.
The stakes for why this fund drive mattes couldn’t be higher.
We are heading into the 2026 midterms in the middle of an economic storm. Working people are absorbing mass layoffs driven by reckless tariff policies and corporate restructuring. Budgets for housing, healthcare, and schools are being slashed while billionaires consolidate power. Voting rights and civil rights are under coordinated attack. Black Congressional representation is being erased. The ICE deportation machine is still rolling across the country. Wars and international crises are escalating.
In this environment, an independent, progressive news source—one that centers the labor movement and the voices of everyday people—is a necessity.
People’s World covers the strikes the mainstream press ignores, the legislation that affects your workplace, the movements building power in communities from coast to coast. As we head toward November 2026, readers need journalism that tells the truth about who has power, who is fighting back, and what is actually at stake.
That journalism exists because you fund it.
