Carl Bloice

Carl Bloice (1939-2014) was one of the first Northern reporters to journey to the South to cover the Civil Rights movement of the 1950s and '60s. He was among the founders of the W.E.B. DuBois Clubs and served on the Central Committee of the Communist Party USA. He was editor of the West Coast People's World newspaper and of the People's Daily World. He was the paper's Moscow correspondent during the final years of the Soviet Union. He later served as an editorial board member for BlackCommentator.com, helped found the Committees of Correspondence for Socialism and Democracy, and worked for the California Nurses Association.
