Professor of religion and society at Norwegian School of Theology and Academic Director of the Centre for the Critical Study of Apocalyptic and Millenarian Movements (CenSAMM). He is co-editor of the Journal for the Study of the Historical Jesus. Published widely in the areas of historical Jesus, Christian origins, ideological criticism, and English political history.
