Jane Collins began organizing for peace and justice in 1970 during the Vietnam War. That same year, she also began organizing for reproductive rights. Since 1982, she has been a Unitarian Universalist who works against wars and mass incarceration and for the rights of immigrants and the LGBTQ+ community.
