People’s World on the front line battling right-wing thought control

There is a war being waged against truth and legitimate information in our country. The far-right wants to obscure real history, making it something that caters to values that fly in the face of inclusivity, progress, and diversity. These culture wars not only push bigoted rhetoric but are used as a tool to distract from the detrimental legislation the Republican Party and those that support it are trying to force upon working people.

When the corporate press reports on these happenings, it does so in a way that often tries to legitimize these fascist-like tactics while downplaying the real dangers to democracy and the future of the United States.

While GOP politicians push a narrative that the “woke mob” and “the left” are trying to indoctrinate the youth, the reality is that the main indoctrination afoot is that being carried out by the right-wing media, which wants you to believe that the only salvation to the societal ills of poverty, low-wages, and hardship lies in trusting billionaires and the politicians in their pockets.

At People’s World, we focus on a different way forward—the people’s way forward. One that recognizes the power of the working class, that includes our struggles and triumphs.

We write articles focusing on readers like you, striving every day for a better tomorrow by engaging in the struggles of the present. This includes issues like better pay, safety, and education.

Can you help us to continue pointing the way forward? Please donate to make sure People’s World can reach its 2023 Spring Fund Drive goal of $125,000.

People’s World has stayed on the topic of climate change, refusing to fall into the trap of placing all the burden on working people. Rather, we strive to hold corporate greed accountable for decisions that put people, animals, and the land in constant danger.

The publication also continues to highlight the dangers of white supremacist rhetoric that has emboldened extreme right-wing domestic terrorism.

These are just a few examples of the issues People’s World has focused on in order to give thorough analysis and information in the interests of working people.

In order to keep reporting on the things that matter most, the paper needs the financial support of its readers.

If you enjoy and value coverage you can trust and count on, please consider making a donation to People’s World today.

People’s World is part of a long legacy of working-class journalism that began with our founding as the Daily Worker in 1924. In order to keep building on that legacy, we have to raise $125,000 in our Spring Fund Drive to keep doing this important work.

This country needs journalism that’s not beholden to billionaire interests—journalism that stands in the way of right-wing extremism, misinformation, and the erasure of history. Please consider helping us continue this journey.
